Duties and Responsibilities
i. Perform high-quality, complex medical imaging procedures (e.g., CT, MRI, mammography, or fluoroscopy).
ii. Prepare and position patients correctly, explain imaging procedures to alleviate anxiety, and monitor physical well-being throughout the scan.
iii. Calibrate, operate, and troubleshoot highly specialized radiographic equipment to ensure optimal image quality
iv. Strictly adhere to ALARA (As Low as Reasonably Achievable) principles, utilizing lead shielding and monitoring dosages to protect patients and medical staff.
v. Establish and maintain departmental Quality Assurance (QA) programs, routinely testing equipment to meet regulatory compliance standards.
Requirement for Appointment
i. Degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB.) from an Institution recognized by Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board.
ii. Masters in Imaging and Radiology
iii. Certificate of Registration by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board
iv. Certificate of Recognition from Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC)
v. Valid practicing license from Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board
vi. At least nine (9) years of working experience
vii. SLDP lasting not less than six (6) weeks from a recognized institution
viii. Certificate in Computer application skills from a recognized institution
